This weekend

• When I heard Paul Newman died, my first thought was "what will happen to the salad dressing???" I loooooove Newman's Own and I think it's hands down the best dressing out there. The Creamy Caesar is a key ingredient in my pasta salad.
• Rain, rain, rain....
• It does pay to procrastinate. I had 10 $1.50 off coupons for V8 Fusion juice. Was going to get it at Walmart since their price of $2.99 is the lowest anywhere. Usually goes for $3.99 in the grocery store. My coupons expired 9/30/08. Just in the nick of time, they went on sale at Shaw's for $2.50!!!!   I paid $1 each for them. So I saved $30 by using my coupons on a sale price (less the $4 that I paid for the coupons)
• Saturday we had a fun crop at Candy's house and she treated us all to USA Subs! It was soooo yummy and we had a great time.

Recent deal scores

Yes, I'm still clippin' coupons like a madwoman and scoring deals. Although I haven't set foot in a CVS in like 3 weeks because it's been kind of lame. But I still found some good things here and there over the past few weeks.

• Got Dove shampoo and conditioner at Rite Aid for 25¢ each
• Cereal bonanza!! This week's Shaw's General Mills promotion (plus a few coupons of my own) let me get 10 boxes of cereal/granola bars for $7.20. That's 72¢ each!
• Walgreen's--got 6 bottles of Olay body wash and 2 bottles of shampoo for 4 dollars.
• I like V8 Fusion juice (helps me get my veggies) but won't pay full price. So I ordered 10 $1.50 coupons from eBay and will get them at Walmart where the reg. price is $2.98 (unless I find a better sale sometime before they expire, but they don't often go on sale). After I subtract my costs for buying the coupons I still save $10.
• Here are some pictures of some freebies from the grocery store over the past couple weeks. Yes, tons of free paper towels. I have a zillion $1 off "Homelife" brand coupons and the single rolls are 99¢. So I pick up 2 or 3 every time I go.

25% off at Old Navy

I have 6 more invitations to send out for 25% off at Old Navy, Gap, Banana (in stores AND online) good for August 1-3. Old Navy clearance is my #1 place that I get Drew's clothing, so I can't go wrong with this offer. They will also donate 5% of what is spent to the World Wildlife Fund.

Free after rebate at Ace Hardware

Good stuff this past weekend at Ace Hardware, they had lots of items in their flyer listed as free after rebate and 99¢ after rebate. I got all you see here for free +$3 profit after rebate, after using a $5 off $25 coupon for being an Ace Rewards member.

Rechargeable Batteries!!

Rite Aid has an excellent deal on Duracell rechargeable batteries starting on Sunday 6/8. I am so excited about this. The AAA and AA 4-packs are on sale for $10.99 each (which is awesome, they are usually $15-20 each) AND when you buy $20 worth you get $10 back in single check rebates!!  There were also $2/1 coupons a couple of weeks ago so if you buy 2 packs you get them for SIX DOLLARS eight dollars (I'm bad at math apparently). Can't beat that with a stick.

CVS rocks!

CVS gets better all the time.... I had a GREAT week except for one big mess-up but I think I did okay even so. I actually FORGOT my ECBs at home when I went shopping! I could have died right there in the store when I realized it. But instead of giving up and going back home, I threw together a quick scenario to get me some ECBs quickly and not spend much out of pocket, so I could carry on to the next store and not waste my trip.

Transaction #1

3 bottles of Pantene 25% extra bonus size (!), sale $10  used 2 $1.50 coupons
1 Listerine Smart Rinse, $3.49  used 1 $1 coupon
2 Chex Mix, sale $1  used 2 $1 coupons-free!
used a $3/15 coupon

Total: $6.49 OOP + got back 3 ECB for Pantene and 3.49 ECB for listerine

Transaction #2

1 Listerine Smart Rinse, $3.49  used 1 $1 coupon
3 CVS brand band-aids, $1.99 ea
2 CVS brand 500 ct q-tips, $3.19 ea
used a $3/10 CVS brand coupon
used a $3/15 coupon

Total: $2.35 OOP (paid with ECB from trans #1)
got back 3.49 ECB for listerine, 4.00 ECB for q-tips and 5.97 ECB for band-aids

Total: $1.27 OOP after paying with 7 ECB (the ones I previously forgot at home)

total: $0.98 OOP after paying with 10 ECB from trans #4
got back 5 ECB for Pampers, $20 total from trans #3 and #5

Total for the week:  $11.58. Still kicking myself for forgetting those ECB at home, then my total could have been $7 less!!!

Still, 11.58 for $117.66 worth of stuff is not too shabby.

Phew! I'm all done for the week! And I have 10 ECB (from #3 and #5) for next week to play with.

Gas points pay off

Coupons are everywhere, even for gas!!  I've been collecting my Shaw's gas points from their promotion that they ran from March-May, and saved them all up so I can use them in one big whammy here at the end. Last day to redeem them is June 5th, so I'm just squeaking in. I collected $1.40 in coupons, so that's $1.40 off per gallon good for one fill up.  I ran the Rav4 down to the very FUMES before rolling in to fuel up, that way I get the most cheap gas that my tank will hold. LOL. Not a good idea, I know, but I think this one time is worth the exception.  It was calculated with precision.

$1.40 X 13.5 gallons = $18.90 savings!!! 

Today gas was $3.86, so full price would have been $52.40, and they gave me the almost $19 back in cash so that was nice.

That sure does help.

All this for less than the price of a Taco Bell burrito

......ironically dumb ol' me forgot to use my coupon for a free Fruitista freeze at Taco Bell ;)

Good Deals at Shaw's

Had a good trip to the grocery store this week......

I thought their recent sale on 12-pack Cokes was pretty good at 5/$11. But this week they kicked it up even more at 5/$10!!!  I'm a nut for Cherry Coke Zero so I stock up when it's on sale and I have like 10 cases right now. Yikes.

French's yellow mustard is on sale for $1, and with a 50¢ coupon it doubles to free!

Cains dressing is on sale for $1 and with a $1 coupon..... free.

Poland Springs 24-pk water is on amazing sale this week: $3.77 and also a $1 in-store coupon makes it $2.77. I have never seen it for such a low price.

McCormicks spices, grill mates, grinders, etc on sale for 3/$5 (reg. $2.19) and with a 25¢ coupon doubled that makes it $1.17.

Found some Folgers Gourmet Selections coffee on sale 50% off (reg. $6.49), plus I had a $1/2 coupon so they were $2.75.

3# tub of I Can't Believe It's Not Butter Light is reg. price $5.99, on sale for $5.29, and with a 40¢ coupon doubled it was $4.49 so that's not bad.

A great week for deals

I had such a ball this week doing deals at CVS and Walgreen's. The below picture contains items from 4 trips (3 CVS and 1 Walgreen's) and my total spent out of pocket for everything you see here was

$1.75I also have $2.50 coming back in rebates, $3 Register Rewards to spend at Walgreen's and $11 Extra Bucks to spend at CVS.  It's like getting paid to go shopping. Here are some of the details:

• the tinfoil was on sale for 75 cents with WAG coupon, plus $1.50/2 coupon = free
• zantac was $4.99 minus a $5.00 coupon + gave a $3 register reward = $3 PROFIT
• lady speed stick was on sale for 99 cents with WAG coupon - $1 printable coupon = free
• Pert Plus was on sale for $3.49 - $1.50 coupon - $2.50 in rebate = 51 cents profit
• gummy worms (there were 2) on sale for $1 each - $1/2 coupon = 50 cents
• the Bic Soleil razors were 99 cents each after coupons and Extra Bucks
• the palmolives were 20 cents each after BOGO sale and $1 coupon
• the toothpastes were free after ECB - $1 off coupon = $2 profit for both
• the Vive Pro shampoo was BOGO and I even forgot to use $2 worth of coupons but it turned out I didn't need them anyway (the coupons).

At Shaw's this week they had a great cereal promotion. Selected cereals and bars were $2.00 each, and when you buy $20 worth there is a coupon to take $10 off!! So that means ONE DOLLAR CEREAL!!!  Here, I used a couple of coupons so I got 11 boxes for $10.  91¢ each!

Another great deal allowed me to finally use a coupon I've been squirreling away for such an occasion..... Aveeno Baby products were on sale 25% off, so I got the wash & shampoo that Drew uses reg price $4.99, on sale for $3.74, and I used a 75¢ coupon which doubled to $1.50--final price $1.99!!! That is an awesome price for that stuff. I've seen it as much as $5.79 in stores.
