I have to blog stuff like this or I'll never remember it later. This blog has served as a family archive for all our memories, and this is an easy way for us to go back and reference certain times.
So Drew has no idea about Santa Claus. I kind of tried to tell him who Santa is, and told him that "Santa is coming to bring you some toys." He just looked at me warily like he didn't want anybody coming over that he didn't know. In fact right up until the actual day of Christmas, I don't think he even knew what the presents under the tree were. He knew they were pretty boxes, but he didn't really understand that they were to be opened and they had stuff in them. It's been 6 months since he opened a gift (at his birthday party) so the memory of that was long gone.
His favorite thing was totally this little 3 ft tree that I had decorated just for him. I used colored lights and colorful ornaments that he could touch all he wanted to (as long as he was gentle, and he was). He went over to that tree first thing every single morning and spent lots of time each day looking at it, pointing at all the different colors and saying the names.
The stockings were hung..... I love seeing all these together. Our family is complete. I remember wanting to order some stockings after Christmas last year, but we didn't know what Parker's name was going to be at that point.
Here's Parker on Christmas Eve with one of his presents:
One of the gifts I was really excited to get for Drew was these little Super Why vehicles. He looooooves the Super Why show, so I thought he'd go nuts over them. But he doesn't like them. I truly think he's a little freaked out by them. I think those characters are so real to him that to see them on these little toys is just too weird. Maybe he'll like them in a few months. :) LOL. When he first opened the present, he threw it down and stomped on it. I didn't mean to scare the poor kid!
