Do you have a certain job that you dream of, that if you didn't have to worry about money, you would do because it made you happy, not because you needed to pay the bills? Dave always says that he would be a UPS driver if he could just work because he wanted to, not because he needed to. Well a couple of weeks ago I got in my email box my dream job. The owner of the Black Forest Cafe asked to buy some of the photos I've taken in the past of their food for their website, and in addition asked me to shoot some additional goodies as needed. Are you kidding me???? Erika Follansbee Photography just burst at the seams, with my first food commission. Food photography is my passion, and it was soooooo lovely to get such a great compliment. Here is the first thing she asked me to shoot: their new Lemon Drop Cake for the spring menu.
It is as delicious as it looks! Four layers filled with lemon curd and a creamy, bright, lemony icing. It tastes like spring.
And additionally, I had my first birthday party shoot this weekend which was awesome and SO much fun. This is where it starts to pick up speed. I have this birthday party, some dance costume portraits for 4 girls and 2 moms, a recital, some 1-year old portraits, and some unscheduled but talked-about portraits for a very funny little girl (Claire, this means YOU!), and another birthday party for a little boy. Oh, and last but not least a WEDDING in July. Totally psyched about that one.
I have bought my website for Erika Follansbee Photography and I've been hammering it out and choosing photos for it. I can't wait for these upcoming shoots to add to my portfolio!
What is your dream job, if money (or lack thereof) was not an issue?
