This month the June crop was hosted by Christina and someone had the brilliant idea to stop off for lunch at Amigo's in Milford first, and then finish the final leg of the journey to Wilton afterwards (OH was that me?? Well, I do have good ideas sometimes...... ;)
We did this one time before, a long time ago. And I just checked my photo files and realized it was in August of 2006. FOUR years ago. That was a lifetime ago. We must not let another 4 years go by before we do this again.
I love this place because it photographs so well. I get to do some really funky processing when I edit the photos which I super fun for me, and I think really fitting for the occasion. It has the wonderful fiesta atmosphere of a cantina, and pink walls and colored chili pepper lights everywhere (kinda reminds me of my bedroom when I was 16), and it's just a lot of fun. Our waitress was really cool, and I know she would have rather sat down with us and had a drink than work on this particular day. She would have fit right in with us.
My favorite part of this meal was my drink. Last time I was here with Dave (in a former lifetime, before kids) I got the Mi Amigo John margarita and it was wonderful. I'm kind of picky about my margaritas because I insist that they do not contain any of that sugary "sour mix" that restaurants try to load them up with. All a margarita needs is tequila, cointreau or triple sec (or something similar), and lime juice. So I was careful to peruse the menu to pick something that did not have the sour mix. Amigo's actually has a very nice drink menu, so there were plenty to choose from. I went with the "Bike Shop Margarita" which had my 3 required ingredients and nothing more. It was perfect, absolutely perfect.
We had a great time there. Christina, Candy, Kristi, and I spent 2 whole hours there yakking it up before hitting the road to Wilton. It was a wonderful lunch to spend with the girls and unwind for a bit. We missed you, Karen!!!
Christina treated us to an appetizer which was ENORMOUS!!!
Afterwards we were treated to red velvet cupcakes at Tiner's house. Thank you so much!! Such a wonderful afternoon.....
Good company, good food all we needed was nicer weather. ; )
