Dave and I celebrated our 7th wedding anniversary back on October 18th.... sort of. As much as we celebrate anything these days. We went out to eat (together and alone) and that was extremely rare and very enjoyable. Yum Yum. But later, we recieved a very special and unexpected gift. Dave's Aunt Marilyn is an amazing quilter, and she surprised us with a supremely gorgeous quilt that photos do not do justice to!
It is everything that I envision autumn to be, with little primitve pumpkin people on each of the panels, and accent patterns in warm autumn tones. Just gorgeous. It makes me want to paint my bedroom some beautiful cinnamon toast color and bask in it. Marilyn is usually known for her bold and vibrant colors, so for her to use such muted earth tones is kind of unusual for her, but OH so perfect! I just love it.
Unfortunately the photos are not what I hoped they would be. My house is such a pit of filth and despair that I didn't really have a good space to lay out the quilt to do it justice. But, it is really such a treasure and I will love it for years to come.
I meant to tell you...that is fabulous!

The quilt is amazing!!! What a special gift. It sounds like Dave's Aunt stepped out of her comfort zone to make her gift that much more special and personal to you.
Some days when I see the state of my kitchen table I wonder whether yours is still nice and clean (remembering your table transformation post from way back). I don't think anyone's house is always picture perfect!
