I will never understand the point of the NH February vacation. In a place where there is regularly a week or more of snow days during the winter that have to be made up at the end of the year, why they have this arbitrary week off is beyond me. Apparently they like having the kids in school until almost July. They also mock us with this February garbage, knowing that we're all stuck at home with kids climbing the walls in the freezing winter when there's nothing to do. Why can't they have this random vacation week in April or May?
So I really wanted to do something, or go somewhere, or try to make something special out of what could be a train wreck of sitting around watching tv for a whole week. My kids don't really have too many friends (especially not Drew), so a fun filled week of playdates is surely not going to be happening.
So we took our little stay-cation up to North Conway to the Red Jacket Resort and their indoor waterpark! Totally fun to take a little road trip and do something out of the ordinary, stay in a hotel, swim in the middle of winter and eat some good food. We really enjoyed it. We only stayed one night, because you know that shizz is expensive and the budget only allows for so much indulgence (and we came home to a $625 oil bill, so I give up.) I just truly and sincerely GIVE. UP.
We had a great time! The kids loved the hotel, and the waterpark. Well worth it to get out of town and have a little fun.
So many people I know FB are doing this. Just going to a hotel and using the pool or going to one with the indoor waterpark. It is such a cool idea. :)
